Solidarity is the new pink.
Our 2020 in Retrospect December theme challenged us to go big, and we’ve delivered. Global Protests is WU’s largest collaborative effort to date, a project spearheaded by our Ideas Division with representatives from 20+ countries around the world to cover stories of advocacy for women’s empowerment in their local contexts.
Explore our interactive map* to learn more about how change-makers on the streets and/or on their phones are speaking up against violence and social injustice. Take your time to dive into these pieces; each pin on the map represents a protest this year that you can learn more about on our blog, youtube channel and spotify podcast series!
*Our map displays an outdated depiction of the globe, which we’ve used for design purposes only. Note that it is not representative of the scale and size of the nations it shows. To learn more about decolonising the map, click here.
